"Happy New Year" I'm sure looking forward to the new year on WGN. If anyone has ideas for feature articles, source articles, or anything else you would like to see added to WGN, let us know. We have been on the web going on 4 years with almost 50,000 hits, with many successes. That's incredible for a single surname website.

Co. 04/17/1907, died 06/11/94. Henry clark Womack married Willy May Hinchman
around 1890. I hope this will give someone enough information to help me track
down my family line. My father had two brothers Edgar Womack born in CO. around
1889
and Earl Womack Born around 1900.

Regarding the review/editing of a WGN article about the recent early Womack
research...I volunteer to help out there.

I hope one of you Womack researchers can help me. I found a David Womack who is listed as a son of Thomas A. and Louvisa Rice Womack. He died about 1827 in Union County KY and was married to Esther Tanner in 1809 in Rutherford Co, NC. They had the following children: Oliver Clayton Womack (b 1812 Rutherford Co NC), Walton B. Womack, and Ursula Womack. Oliver married first Elizabeth J. Wilson second Esther Mooney third Martha Wagoner. Oliver and Esther Mooney Womack were the parents of Mary E., David, Squire and Louisa. Walton married Rebecca Kerns, they were the parents of George. My question is this: Has anyone any record of David Womack being a child of Thomas and Louvisa? If not, who are David's parents?
Carol the following is from notes about this David I received from Roger and
others: "Believed to be the son of Thomas and Louvisa Rice, however
compiler of this genealogy has doubts about this connection, need proof or some
other documentation.
Louvisa was on the Rutherford Co., census with 6 sons in 1790. She was in
Kentucky with her youngest son David and his wife Esther in 1810.
Source: Lenda McGuire doslagos@inu.net"
I have him listed but without last name of Esther and only Walton, no Ursula.
Perhaps an E mail to Lenda might shed some more light if anyone here cannot.
Keep me posted so I can include that info as a connection/source of sorts.

I am looking for any information on Charles and Ada Wommack who were married around the late 1800's: 1875-1890. They resided in a town that does not exist anymore, by the name of Auburn, Mo.(Near Troy, Mo.) They had 7 children: Emory, Thomas, Louis, Sam or George (?), Martha, and two other daughters (can't remember their names). The births ranged from 1891 to 1917 or so. Ada was part Native American and black and Charles was part white, Native American, and Black. Charles also share-cropped and may have been living on the property of a white land owner in Auburn. If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it.

Looking for information on Mary Womack b. March 27, 1872 in TN.
She was called Samantha. Her dads name was Wiley Womack. Would like to
find out the name of her mother and siblings.
I've read several of the archived messages about the Sarah Womack born about 1730 that married James Archdeacon-Cody. Has anyone ever determined if she is the daughter of Richard Womack and Ann Childers? Were there any other Womack families known to live around these families? I'm so confused about this connection I have to look up to see down! Thanks for any help.
Has anyone researched the relationship between the Denton/Womack families?
I have a small book written by Edythe Whitley, a foreword written by Walter
Womack and published by
Womack Printing Co. in 1959, in McMinnville, TN.
In this book the Denton/Womack families intermarried
and a good deal of information is contained therein.
If this matter has previously been examined please point me to the sites or
pages.
I just found the WGN last week. Great Work!!

Robert, That may be William Newton Womack, son of Newton C. Womack. William
married a Rachael Watts and had a son Plenny Virgil Womack in 1871, I don't have
any other children.
Then I found a William N Womack in the AR., census, with a wife Mary E. with a
son FH Womack born sep1881. These could be the same William's, both were born
abt 1850 in Tennessee. Good luck and keep us posted. I still Haven't figured out
who Newton C. belongs to. Been trying to figure him out for years, ranks right
up there with Thomas Womack and Louvisa Rice in the "opportunity for
personal growth column"
Sometime back, and you'd have to go to the messge archives to find it,
someone
from GA posted something that had the name "Hoyal" Womack. Cannot
remember if there was a first name or what. But the oddity of the name Hoyal
might be a clue in this respect.
Also, I think someone posted something on James Hovill Womack, or akin to that,
I found one in England of that name--another connection perhaps??
Need help getting some family history. I'm related to Womack's from my
mother's side of the family. My uncle recently visited cemetary in Butler Cty,
KY (on private land) and recorded the information found below.
I'm specifically looking for ancestors of J.D. Womack, my ggGrandfather through
the Beesley's. Family history (word of mouth) indicates he may have been part
Cherokee from Eastern TN or Western NC, or that his wife may have been. Have
artifacts that have passed down through the family. Wondering if anyone has info
on this line. Please respond to my e-mail address since I'm more likely to see
response. Thanks for any help.

For Wendy Bashinski. You say you have read the Archives. Does that include the several messages in October 1998 from me, Ann MacDonald and others? I'm convinced that the data quoted there about proximities and other family relationships provides a solid "weight of the evidence" demonstration that that Sarah Womack was the daughter of Richard III Womack and Ann Childers; but there is no proof. And there were lots of other Womacks around in the Amelia/Prince Edward/Lunenburg/Charlotte VA area, but in the critical time period and close proximity they were Richard's kids; the same is true of the later sojourns in Orange/Caswell/Person NC and in Warren/Jefferson GA. I'm more convinced that Sarah was the daughter of Richard III and Ann than I am that Ann was Ann Childers.
To Lilly Gorman: I received your email message, but my reply is not accepted by your server. I tried to send you a file first and then tried to just reply to your message. Nothing. Will try again as I have a lot of information for you.
