Great page! Always looking for Womack cousins. My great grandfather was Abner Pryor Womack. He lived in GA, MS, LA and TX, was married twice and and had many children. I am descended from a daughter by his second wife, Telitha Kirby Ferguson Womack.
Would it be possible for someone to make a copy of their Womack Genealogy newsletters for me? Please let me know, Mark

ATTENTION: I have removed the guest book from the WGN site. Too many people were using it to post their family info, instead of posting it here to the message page. I integrated the relevant items from the guest book into the message page, so you may want to peruse it again to see if there is something new that interests you and your research. Also, I archived the older messages to a archive page so that we don't have to scroll through all of them any more. But people can still access them to see what is there. Please let me know if there are any problems! Thanks, Mark
Query for BUTLER - WOMACK I am searching for my Womack family. My g-grandmother was the daughter of Irvin Butler and Emlie Womack according to her death Cert. I also know she was 1/4 Choctaw Indian. She was born in Louisiana December 10, 1865 and died in Fresno, CA. Nov. 7, 1960. I met this lady and she was very much part Indian. Her name was Molissa A. Butler she married my g-grandfather who's sir name was Holdge, I don't know where. He died when my grandfather was only a small child. Molissa then married a man named Samuel Winfield Thompson in about 1890 in Texas. (around Waco I think) they moved into Indian Terr. (Okla) in about 1895. They had several children. Mr. Thompson died in 1928 at Anadarko, Caddo co., Ok. Sometime in the 1940's my g-grandmother moved to Calif. I know nothing more of her past or even my g-grandfathers first name. I have not been able to find anything. Maybe someone can help me. Thanks, Maxine Reggio Bethany, OK
The following is a request from an off-line Womack hunter. Patricia Harlan, to be exact. She's looking for a Jesse W. Wommack b. abt 1811 d. aft 1890 m. abt 1840 to Rebecca WILSON. Now, for locations - he was in Lauderdale Co., MS from about 1840 to about 1870, when he goes to Kemper Co., MS. Ca. 1882, it appears he moved to Rankin Co., MS. At least his son, James Richard is there in 1900 along with one married sister and 2 unmarried sisters and his own family. All of the children are buried in County Line Baptist Church, Rankin Co. Now, the closest guess I could make, having eliminated most of my nearer Jesse Womack relations is that this might be Jesse son of Richard Mansel Womack, brother to Indian Abe. So, if any of those Indian Abe types out there may know something about this Jesse, give me a yell, and I'll pass it along to Patricia. Also, if anyone happens to have the MS or AL early marriages CD - pinning down where they married might help. Thanks! Ann
This is a great page! I have really appreciated the input from so many people who are also doing Womack research. I have an update on my family. Its very possible that my Great-Grandfather JOHN FRANKLIN WOMACK and his wife RHODA GERTRUDE (BLACK) WOMACK were from Harrison, Co. TX instead of Cass, Co. There are several John Womacks listed on the Harrison, Co. census index. I have also found out that my mother had 2 cousins (twins) that were born by the name of Jack and Jean Jester. Their mother was my Grandfathers sister and she died giving birth to them. So if anyone out there happens to know these twins please let me know as they may be able to tell me where in Texas this Womack family was from! As I stated in my query before my Grandfather had Womack siblings named:Andrew (Uncle Drew) William (Uncle Bill) Joseph (Uncle Joe) who lived in Ashdown, AR. Thomas (Uncle Tom) who lived in Mena, AR. Fannie, who married a Batton, Finett, who married a Cook, and a Sally. There are 5 other children that I do not know their names. If anyone knows any of these Womacks please let me know! Thanks and keep up the good work! Jeanie

After an absence of doing genealogy for several years, I am doing some. I just recencently got online and wanted to let my past friends and acquantances know. I can help SOME, BUT DO NOT HAVE TIME TO DO MUCH research in my vast files. I do have about 16,000 on my PAF now. IF YOU ARE DESPERATE, e-mail me directly and I'll check my database WHEN I CAN. I have bad arthartis and work only when I can. I published the "Womack Family Courier" in the mid & late 1980s. Hi Ray. Glad to see you are still working in genealogy. We have started a Gen & His Ass here in Winnfield. Annette
